July 25 Race Pics
Great Racing yesterday! Feel free to add.......

Alana and Jason Enright had a full day yesterday. They ran their Timberline MTB race in the morning and then came out to the Sandbox in the afternoon. What would we do without such dedicated individuals in the MTB and BMX community. Ari and Alaska also went out to race in the Timberline race. Alaska was set on winning but in typical Alaska fashion he crashed a few feet before the finish line. Results below:

Back to the Sandbox. I think the most improved rider award has to go out to Akoni Tacub. He was locked in a total points battle with two speedsters - Kaelin Locker and Ramsey Ingano. Kaelin and Ramsey are always going at it but Akoni proved he can hang with the best of them. In the end Kaelin made his sponsors happy and took the win with Akoni 2nd and Ramsey 3rd. Thats Kaelins 8th win and he just got the bump to Inter. Congrats Kaelin!

19-27 Novice. Kaelin Locker leads as Akoni puts "the move" on Ramsey.

In 28 and Over Novice Lance "Old School" Yoshimura had a run of bad luck in Moto 1. Lance blew up coming over the 1st double on the 2nd straight and crashed his old school Robinson. I keep telling Lance to go see Duane at bikefactory and order a new school frame. But, Lance likes to rock it "old school" style racing either his Robinson or Team mongoose! You should see his sweet 32 Ford Roadster that he tools around in!

Lance "Old School" Yoshimura goes down on the second Straight in 28 and Over Novice.

Making the 28 and Over Novice main was Jim Drake, Kiana Kam, Ruben, Bandon and Lance. Unfortunaetly Phillip Henry didn't make the cut on his sweet chromed out Free Agent. But, its just a matter of time for this guy. When the gate slammed it was Ruben with the pop followed closely by Brandon, Jim Drake and Kiana. Lance popped a clip coming from lane 1. Brandon is good friends with Kristofor G. and Kristofor has been helping Brandon with his riding. It seems to be paying off because this kid keeps getting faster and faster. Brandon made a charge for the gold but Ruben held on - barely. It finished like this...Ruben, Brandon, Jim, Lance and Kiana.

28 and Over Novice Main. Ruben Waters holds off the charge from Brandon with Jim Drake tucking in for a close 3rd.
The Cruiser Class seems to be thinning out as of lately. We lost some heavy hitters like Jake Davis and Roland Ingano. Both, making the switch to the 20 inch Inter class. But, the Cruiser class is still rocking and hoping for the return of speedsters like Jason "Sensei" Chang, Kevin Mokuahi, Daniel Drumm, and Terrence "Bird" Gomez.

In 36-40 Cruiser Bigfoot looked a bit lonely out front without his arch rival Jason Enright. Enright decided to just race 20" yesterday. I have to admit I love seeing Bigfoot and Enright race. But, Alaska filled in and gave Bigfoot a run for his money. Its hard to ease up when you know Alaska is charging. Alaska made some key moves on the turns but couldn't make his tires stick at some pivitol moments letting victory slip away. You gotta hand it to Alaska though the guy is always exciting to watch! He is definately a crowd favorite.

Alaska takes a dirt digger while Bigfoot slips away and Todd Cullison avoids the carnage.

RE: July 25 Race Pics
Last rack of the day. The 28 and Over Inter/Ex class. Almost a full rack yesterday with 7 riders total. I said it many times before and I'll say it again. I love this class! At any one time anyone can win or anyone can miss making the main. Unfortunately it wasnt Roland Ingano's day and he didn't make the main. But, Roland is the peoples champ. He's smiling and enjoying himself no matter what.

Come main time. Gellert shot out of the gate like a bat out of hell. Enringht put his head down like he always does and poured on the power and tucked into 2nd.

Kristofor with the early lead in 28 and Over Inter/Ex

It was crazy going into turn 1! Kristofor came in hot but made it work by cranking the outside lane. Enright tried to dive under Kristofor but Kristofor slingshotted out of the turn with the outside lead. I squeaked into turn 1 just behind Enright followed tightly by Alaska who was making a dive on the inside of Shane "Double A" Anzai.

Turn1 28 and Over Inter/Ex. Kristofor G leads the wolfpack.

Turn 2 Enright tried to get under Kristofor while I was trying to come under Enright. But, Kristofor dodged the bullet and then pulled away in the rythm section. So it finished Kristofor, Enright, jk, Alaska and Anzai.

I'm hoping Keira will come along and give some play by play on the groms. Or if anyone wants to add - please do so. But, all in all another great day of racing in Hawaii. Best moment of all? Sitting on the cement pillar after the race eating a hot dog with Kiana and Dakota while listening to the Tacub family recap some of the day. Good times!
Sorry! Forgot to link the rest of Alana's Pics! Huge thank you to Alana for taking and sharing the pics! Also thank you to all those who make it happen! Jim Drake, Alana, Zed, Duane Franklin, Jessie, Leila and Ari McLaren, Ben Worell, Jason Chang and all the track volunteers.

RE: July 25 Race Pics
A big congratulations to Diego "Super D" Ferri on continuing his winning streak of 4 back to back wins. Rumor has it he'll be joining us in Boulder City.
Here's a pix of Super D, Henry and new comer Kennedy. Great job Kennedy on making it to the mains in your 1st race. Hope to see you out there again.

In the 7 novice it was a battle between Toyan and Taviana. Taviana wasn't willing to give up her winning streak without a fight...and fight she did all the way to the finish line. However, Toyan Figueroa went on to take the win in the mains.

This week the 8 & 9 novice got sandwiched together creating a full gate and great racing. [Image: DSC_0072.jpg]
Stacking the gate: Ralph, Connor, Andrzej, Jaxon, Kanoa and Jayden.
After being gone for most of the summer Connor Gallagher was hungry for a win. Barely holding on against Jaxon Bing he was able to claim victory.

10inter. Maybe I should say it the way Maka say's it "uggghhhhh this is getting old". Hehehehe, gotta love the kid. Unfortunately there's not much 10yrs old on the track so he's forced to race his 7yr old brother Rylan and good buddy Kainalu. Although, the races went as normal...I did have a proud mama moment. My boys didn't eat dirt in there 1st race in clips...hallelujah!

11 Novice. Is that BuBu with the Holeshot? Must be those XS energy drinks.
Jeremy Paulino showed up to WIN. Kid is looking faster every week. In the mains Paulino took 1st, New comer Nick Andreoni taking 2nd, and taking a strong 3rd was BuBu.

After a very loooong & overdue wait Amber Chang finally showed up to race (now if we can just get her dad to do the same). Looking good as always she able to keep up with the up and coming Jaiden Bing and Ryssen "Ry Dog" Ingano.
Bing laid it down in the mains taking 1st. Ryssen finished 2nd, 3rd went to Amber and 4th place went to Dylan Spain.

Topic Concession: A BIG mahalo from me & Jesse to everyone who stops by. Two great weekends in a row. We are very grateful for your support.
This coming weekend we will be featuring a spaghetti plate. The plate will incl. spaghetti w/meat sauce, toss salad, dinner roll and a brownie for $6. Because the next day will be the 1st day of school for most of the kids I plan on shutting down as soon as the gate drops for the last moto in the mains. If you need me to reserve you a plate feel free to let me know.

Aloha.
