I dig that shot of Darrin ahead of Sano and I think Miki. Boy was Darrin fast, too bad he didn't race longer. That class was like an all star group. I remember how excited I was to be racing in that group, win or lose it was a honor to even be in that group. Nothing against the pros, but I did wonder how the top X's would fare against Rory, Malvert, John, Moki, and the rest. We all know that a full gate changes a lot of the race compared to just 4 or 5 guys.

Remember doing the safety inspections and having to tape up the ends of your axles.Man that bike weighed a ton.
I remember seeing the inspection guy with a hacksaw, I guess if your axles were too long they would cut it.
