Yo P,
Hey bro, where'd you start the "Flailing Boomerang" from? The pedals? Rear pegs? Hang one leg on one side of the frame first like a tailwhip?
I been trying it like how I used to do it, kinda like I am gonna do a tailwhip...however, I gotta re-name your trick because of the results I have been getting, I call it the "Failing Boomerang".
Also, ya land yours on the pedals or get on the frame first? Back in the day, I sometimes got on the peds, but lately i been landing on the frame first, then transfer to the peds...
On a more positive note, the Redline I just got is making things SO much easier than that Wally World Mongoose I had...
TIA and God bless bro!

Howdy Slingshot!!
Good question. I actually started first by going super slow/stopping with the front brakes and jumping from the rear pegs around (non-flail as that entails rolling) and landing on the frame like you described.
It is easier to roll slowly and then jump from the rear pegs (no brakes the whole time) and then bike will kinda take off due to momentum, then rolling, spin around and land on the pedals.. the first times is scary by default.. after that it gets easier.
The best thing is to center your body weight OVER the bars while spinning around, that way you can roll farther and/or in a bigger arc while coming around to complete the boomerang.. I remember a guy named Rick Shugar (sp??) that described it pretty good, thats how I learned it sort of. He said aim your landing foot towards the pedals when coming around to land.. don't worry about the bars or wheels, it will naturally snap back automatically..
Hope that helps!

Yo P!
Cripes man...doing it with no brakes is uh...well, scary is an understatement! LOL!!! Especially all the way from the back pegs! I tell ya, I had flashbacks of when I got nearly impaled by my bars when I ate it BAD once, back in the day.
Can't launch from the rear pegs...think I am too short. (Yeah I know, what an excuse!:rolleyes

However, I have almost stuck a few 'rangs by doing them with the Tailwhip start, and releasing the front brake a bit after the first 180...right when I am coming around the headset...still landing on the frame first though...Ugh!!!
Thanks for your confidence and for being so humble about sticking brake-less Boomerangs...the only multiple 'rangs are the sounds of my knees hitting the bars!!!
Take care bro!
YO P!!!
I came super close to sticking some 'rangs today! Had to compromise:
Start rolling slowly, placed left foot on rear peg, BUT placed right leg over on the left side of frame as if to tailwhip. ALMOST landed on the peds instead of the frame-peds method!!!
I will get these Boomerangs down like before...BUT I do wanna stick 'em on the pedals upon completion. I did stick about 90% of my Tailwhips today though!
Mahalo P!!!
E' sling I had done it b4 by not a full pull on the brakes and from the pedals. and just like p-nut is saying stay over da bars. then spot your pedals to land.

Yo Broc,
Hey thanks for the advice bro...I never could fly from the peds...always had to hang my right leg over the frame.

However, I have been messing with and without the front brakes, only applying them when I "need to".
Ya know, sometimes I think, "WTF am I thinking?!!"
Take care buddy!

keep at it you will get it! I've also seen some others using the right leg as a spin weight to get them around to the front and let the front brake loose and let them ride the momentum to steer them back around. you guys thinking your old.... shit I'm remembering back in 84 practicing on the basketball court back in Kailua park drawing a crowd.
don't need to apply any brake if you keep weight over the bars as mentioned before; that is also the tip to use when doing multiple boomerangs.
