Post pics if you are builing or restoring a bike......I'll slowly post pics of mine as it progresses.

Here's the latest pic.  I swapped out the mongoose bars and gold stem I had on earlier.  The mongoose bars seem too small now that I am 200plus.  But, even the Redlines feel a tad small.  I'm considering swapping to Slam bars which are 28" wide.  The Redlines are 25" I think.  I put on the Redline flights from my cruiser but I'm still looking for a 43 sprocket with early bubble font.  Still looking for a gold shimano DX hub for the front.........I'll post more pics from time to time.

Anyone else building something?

Kden,
JK

Ho...that's classic! Redline cranks were the bomb back in the day!!! Sheesh, you think your Mongoose bars feel small, you should try out the ones I got on my Goose. Ugh. I think my CW bars were 28's...I was always apprehensive doing bar hops with those. LOL!!! But for sheer powering leverage, and for those who liked to "tangle" in a turn...they were awesome!!!

I am actually "tearing down" my new Mongoose. First thing that went was the small seat...then the grips, and mostly all the stickers. Oh yeah, changed the pedals too. I got an OS GT Seat made of TRUE hard plastic that I am gonna put on it (got a new Redline seat on it now), and I really need to change the brake pads and the tires...

Also gonna hopefully convert a 6 speed Haro Vector into a one speed 26" cruiser. IMHO, having gears on a Haro is a sin!!!

Here's a pic of the 'Geese...my kid's one has the helmet on it.

Slingshot,

Sweet bikes keep us updated. Yeah having gears is weird for me too. I have a Kona Scrap mountain bike. When I do ride it I never shift gears. Too used to 1 speeding it. I dig the 1 speed mountain/dirt jumpers too. Especially the Black Market Mob.

good luck, keep the build details coming!
Aloha everyone, my name is Shaun and here is the bike that I am building at this time.  I am a defense contractor currently in Iraq right now with the Stryker Brigade so I won't be able to meet any of you guys until next year Sad

Frame:    Eastern Reaper 2 w/ integrated Head Set and Seat Clamp     21" inch Top Tube 4130 Chromo
Fork:        Supercross Pro LT
Bars:        Eastern Ultralite
Ends:       Fly Bikes
Stem:      Colony Official
Seat:       Shadow Conspiracy Slim
Post:       Shadow Conspiracy Umbra
Crank:      Demolition Medial LT w/ Titanium Spindle
BB:          Unknown at this time
Sprocket:  Shadow Conpiracy Lighter
Pedals:    Shadow Conspiracy Nostra Sealed
Wheels:   Eastern Pro w/ Sealed Flip Flop Hub and Cassette
Tires:      Snafu Dirt Box
Brake:     Demolition Vulcan U-Brake
Lever:     Colony Transformer
Chain:      KMC K710-SL
Adjusters: Eastern

Almost every part is about the lightest on the market right now except for the frame which is 4130 CroMo.  Would of went with Alum but will probably break em.  Eastern Frames are also warrantied for life.  I am getting this built through http://www.oldskoolcycles.com, usually I would buy from local kine stores but its hard for them to ship to Iraq.  If any of you guys go through oldskoolcycles tell them that Shaun referred you.  The best place to browse BMX bikes, frames, and all parts is http://www.danscomp.com BUT I believe that they are overpriced.  Oldskoolcycles beat every price at Danscomp on every part.  Total cost of this animal is over $1,000, not too sure yet, I am actually paying the invoices today.  I should receive all the parts in about about 7-10 days.  And then I will send pics of it after its all put togethor.
Shaun,

Looking forward to seeing pics of your build. Yeah for me 4130 chromoly is the only think I feel comfortable with. Thanks for posting those links. I'll check them out. Keep us posted. Sounds like it will be a killer bike.

Stay safe,

JK
