Wha? Cripes, when did THAT happen? What's there now? Last time I was on Oahu, I never even noticed...but I was glad to see A'Ala Park...ahhh the memories...

Cobra had a jersey???
Yup, from what I remember it was all cotton - not the mesh type that was popular.  Yellow with white lettering said Cobra across the front and back.  Was just a simple jersey.  Wish I still had it.  A nice little obscure peice of history that I forgot about until you mentioned it.

LOL, yeah...Cobra was a cool hippy dude...he got us out of some confrontations when the dudes from Mayor Rights were in their, "Eh...I like ride!" Or "Eh, das my bike brah!" moods. Ugh.

Does anyone remember that bike shop across HCC on Dillingham? Was that Eki's?
Yeah,

That was Eki Cyclery.  Legendary Hawaiian's Rory Ingano and Malvert Benigno raced for them.  Rory worked there too.  I think we all had to deal with that "Eh that's my bike" or "I like try ride" deal growing up in Hawaii huh.  I remember passing thru Kalihi somtimes they would try and jam sticks into my spokes to try and get me to crash so they could rip my bike off.  Hah, made me fasterCool

Yo JK,

OMG...I am pretty sure Rory used to ride with us sometimes...even Rory. Their parking lot was a good place to do tricks in too. Big Grin

LOL, no kidding it made everyone who wanted to keep their bike waaaaaaaaaay faster. We'd normally dig out to a jump by...aw shoot...it was up by some apartments, (hospital???) and there was a candy store nearby...Ho I am getting old, OR all my crashes are finally kicking in.Rolleyes
